Medeama Sporting Club has officially announced a USD 200,000 headline sponsorship deal with AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, marking a major commercial milestone for the Tarkwa-based club.

The new sponsorship sees AngloGold Ashanti replace Nguvu Mining as Medeama’s principal partner, forging a collaboration grounded in shared values of community development, empowerment, and sustainable growth.

The unveiling and signing ceremony took place at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa, capping a memorable day for the Mauve and Yellow, who defeated Hearts of Oak 1–0 to finish the first half of the league season at the top of the table.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine, Daniel Boadi, highlighted the partnership as a natural extension of the company’s mission.

“Simply put, this is our commitment to development and to empowering the people in our host communities,” Mr Boadi said.
“Our single purpose is mining to empower people and to advance societies. What you see here today is part of that purpose — as simple as that.”

He added that the sponsorship aligns perfectly with AngloGold Ashanti’s ongoing approach to community engagement and social investment.

“We have always remained committed to the development and empowerment of our host communities, and this partnership with Medeama Sporting Club is a clear reflection of that commitment,” he noted.

The one-year agreement, which is renewable, officially designates AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine as Medeama SC’s headline sponsor, providing a significant boost to the club’s financial and strategic ambitions as they pursue domestic success and long-term growth.
