Hearts of Oak coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has acknowledged his side’s ongoing difficulties in front of goal following their narrow 1–0 defeat to Medeama SC on Sunday at TnA Park, a result that further highlighted the Phobians’ attacking struggles.

A second-half strike from former Hearts midfielder Salim Adams proved decisive, handing Medeama all three points and strengthening the Mauve and Yellow’s hold at the top of the Ghana Premier League table. Despite a spirited display, Hearts were once again unable to convert the chances they created—a recurring concern that is becoming increasingly pressing for the club.

Speaking to the media after the match, Dramani admitted that goalscoring remains Hearts’ biggest challenge.

“Absolutely, goalscoring is really a problem,” Dramani said.
“You saw the chance we had in the first half and the one in the second half. These chances you don’t miss, but we’re still a work in progress.”

The statistics underscore Hearts of Oak’s struggles. After 17 league matches, the Phobians have scored just 11 goals, conceding 7, leaving them with a modest goal difference of +4—a return that falls short of expectations for a club of their stature and title ambitions.

The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak fifth on the league table with 28 points, trailing the leaders as the season enters a critical phase. Attention now turns to their next fixture against Hohoe United on Matchday 18, where Dramani and his players will be eager to find solutions in attack and reignite their challenge up the standings.
