Asante Kotoko has reached an agreement with Berekum Chelsea to sign left-back Patrick Asiedu.
Asiedu, regarded as one of the best left-backs in the Ghana Premier League, has impressed Dr. Prosper Ogum and his technical team with his standout performances. Ogum aims to bring Asiedu to Kumasi to compete with Sudan’s Esmat Abdulhamid for the left-back position in the upcoming season.
While the deal is not yet official, it is pending a medical examination and the agreement of personal terms.
The move is reportedly far along and appears inevitable. Asiedu is expected to finalize personal terms with Kotoko and could relocate to Kumasi in the coming days.
If the deal goes through, the 21-year-old will sign a three-year contract with Kotoko.
Last season, Asiedu featured in 23 matches for Berekum Chelsea, registering one assist.
