Asante Kotoko have confirmed a 20-man squad for their crucial Matchday 28 Ghana Premier League fixture against Nations FC, set to be played at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has opted for consistency, naming an unchanged squad from the side that suffered a 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions in midweek — a loss that ended the Porcupine Warriors’ impressive nine-match unbeaten run. The result saw Kotoko drop to third place on the league table with 47 points.
Despite the setback, Kotoko remain firmly in the title race, boasting a respectable tally of 28 goals scored and just 19 conceded this season. The Kumasi-based giants have also proven to be one of the most resilient sides on the road, with only four away defeats all season — the fifth-best away record in the league.
Saturday’s encounter will mark only the second-ever Premier League meeting between the two sides in Abrankese. Their previous clash at the venue ended in an exciting 2-2 draw last season.
Kotoko will be eager to bounce back and regain momentum in their push for the title, and a positive result against Nations FC could prove vital in that pursuit.
