Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko have made a move to sign Accra Lions' captain, Shawkan Mohammed, as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.

The Porcupine Warriors are keen on strengthening their team ahead of the FA Cup competition and the Ghana Premier League, and the 21-year-old midfielder has caught their eye.

The Kumasi-based club have reportedly officially contacted Accra Lions to discuss a potential transfer for the Ghana Premier League standout.

This is not the first time, Asante Kotoko has expressed interest in Shawkan, but a deal failed to materialize previously.

Head coach Prosper Ogum is a big fan of the midfielder's skills and believes he would be an asset to the team.

With 31 appearances under his belt for Accra Lions, Shawkan has already established himself as one of the top players in the league, and it's expected that he will make a big move before the new season begins.
