At just 21 years old, Emmanuel Kobi has quickly established himself as one of Ghana's most promising young goalkeepers. Despite making his Ghana Premier League debut for Bofoakwa in November 2023, in their match-day 8 game against Aduana Stars in Dormaa, he has firmly cemented his place as the club's first-choice goalkeeper despite his team suffering relegation.
Bofoakwa Tano's management, led by board chairman Yaw Boateng Gyan, recognizes Kobi's immense potential and is keen to reward his rapid development as discussions of a contract extension could surfaced to fend away potential suitors hoping he remains and helps them back to the Ghanaian top-flight league.
Throughout the recently concluded campaign, the 5ft 10ins goalkeeper has showcased his talent, amassing an impressive tally of over 80 saves. Additionally, Kobi boasts those save - having featured in 29 league games throughout Bofo's 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has prioritised signing a very good goalkeeper, hoping to secure his first transfer of the window with Emmanuel Kobi's signing.
Speaking to Kumasi based Akoma FM, Kobi said, “I have been contacted by a number of teams, including Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars, Samartex FC, Gold Stars, and Vision FC. As of now, Asante Kotoko has not called me.
“I'm here to listen to their offers after telling them to hold off on the conversation due to the FA Cup finals.
“To be honest, these are all excellent teams that will aid in my professional development.
“Even though my entire family supports Hearts of Oak, I must admit that I haven't decided which club to join and that I am still under contract with Bofoakwa Tano, so I will entrust everything to God.”
