Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala is on the cusp of joining Tanzanian giants Simba SC, according to reports, after his contract with Ghanaian club Asante Kotoko expired.
The 24-year-old forward is reportedly set to sign a three-year deal with the Dar es Salaam-based club, where he will receive a substantial salary and a significant sign-on fee.
Mukwala's impressive goal-scoring record in the Ghana Premier League, where he has scored over 25 goals in 65 appearances, has attracted the attention of Simba SC.
He is expected to earn a monthly salary of $9,000 and a one-time sign-on fee of $130,000.
The Ugandan international joined Asante Kotoko in 2022 and has been a key player for the team, scoring 25 goals in 65 league appearances.
His impressive form in the 2023-2024 season saw him net 14 goals in 28 games as Kotoko finished sixth in the 18-team league standings.
