Goalkeeper Razak Abalora is set to make a high-profile comeback to his former club, Asante Kotoko, following the conclusion of the ongoing campaign.
Having left the Porcupine Warriors three years ago, Abalora currently plays for Albanian side AF Elbasani.
After departing Kotoko in 2022, he signed a three-year contract with Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol, becoming the fourth Ghanaian to join the club within two years.
In 2024, Abalora switched to AF Elbasani on another three-year deal. However, despite only completing one season in Albania, he is expected to cut short his stay and return to the Ghana Premier League giants next season.
Reports indicate that initial talks between Kotoko and the goalkeeper have already taken place, amid uncertainty over the future of Frederick Asare. Although Asare has agreed in principle to a contract renewal, limited playing time this season has cast doubt on his long-term role.
Abalora finished the 2024/25 season as one of the top goalkeepers in the Albanian league, helping AF Elbasani secure 5th place with 50 points. He featured in 27 matches, keeping nine clean sheets.
