Newly-crowned conquerors, Asante Kotoko have been given Ghc250,000 as prize money for emerging as champions of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors have been consistent with their stellar display this season having led the league from January this year until they were officially crowned champions.

Despite facing a stiffer opposition from Bechem United and Aduana Stars, coach Prosper Narteh's men kept their focus and finally a draw at Obuasi against AshantiGold SC in an outstanding week 29 fixture couple of weeks ago confirmed them as winners.

However, they were officially recognized as such last Sunday night at the Baba Yara Stadium after marmalizing already-relegated Elmina Sharks by 3-0 thanks to goals from Imoro Ibrahim and a brace from substitute George Mfegue.

The Porcupine Warriors just like last year's winners, received Ghc 250,000, 40 gold medals for their coaches, players and other club officials.

Asante Kotoko with 66 points still have their ten points lead intact and will play as guest to Accra Lions in the final fixtures next week in the capital.
