Asante Kotoko produced a stupendous performance in their coronation game after thumping on Elmina Sharks by a resounding 3-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in GPL week 30.

The Sharks showed so much respect to the giants and their champions, having given them a befitting guard of honour before the commencement of the game.

The Porcupine Warriors had their fans in numbers at the stadium to witness their coronation game after being crowned champions of the ongoing GPL season weeks ago.

Kotoko started the game
well, displaying some beautiful exchange of passes among themselves with no any dangerous goal attempt.

Fabio Gama made a great run on the 22nd minute but was brought down for a free kick. Imoro Ibrahim took the mantle and expertly scored from 30 yards to give his side the lead. Wonderful eye-seeing!

The 'Kum Apem' lads pushed for more in the latter part of the first half but all yielded nothing and but had their lead intact heading into the break.

In the second half, Kotoko started very well and had another free kick on the right. Imoro's delivery met the head of Gama but went straight at goalkeeper Maxwell Adom.

George Mfegue nearly made his presence felt as he came close to doubling their lead with his touch but his strike was collected calmly by the Sharks goalie.

The visitors nearly got the equalizer after 75 minutes from a set piece. Emmanuel Adjetey's delivery fell on the path of Isaac Donkor but his shot was cleared just on the line by Richard Boadu.

Boadu after that huge clearance, raced above three defenders to set up Franck Mbella in the box but his first control was too strong and subsequently got into the hands of the Sharks goalkeeper.

On the 80th minute, Kotoko finally doubled their lead leaving their fans in total raptures.

Fabio Gama dazzled his marker and played Mbella through with an awesome dink, he turned nicely to locate his compatriot George Mfegue who calmly slotted into the bottom left corner to make it 2-0.

George Mfegue scored again on the 87th minute to mark his eight of the season after nipping on substitute goalie Michael Blankson's howler to plot into the net.

Asante Kotoko with a huge 3-0 win after full time.
