Asante Kotoko has confirmed that three of its prominent players—Ablorh, Samba, and Peter Anidu—have, in principle, agreed not to leave the club as free agents, clearing the way for potential transfers that would benefit both the players and the Ghanaian giants.
Speaking on behalf of the club, Communications Director Sarfo Duku stated, “Per our last meeting with them, Ablorh, Samba, and Peter Amidu have in principle resolved not to leave as free agents, allowing Kotoko to benefit from their move. When an agreement is finally reached, the club won’t impede their moves, given that both parties would benefit.”
Duku added that discussions are still ongoing with other squad members, noting, “The club has yet to meet with Camara and Ansu though,” indicating that talks with additional players regarding their future at the club are still in progress.
The statement comes amid growing interest in some of Kotoko’s key performers, with both local and international clubs reportedly monitoring their situation ahead of the January transfer window. By ensuring that Ablorh, Samba, and Anidu do not leave on free transfers, Kotoko is positioning itself to secure potential transfer fees, while also giving the players opportunities to advance their careers.
Asante Kotoko who remain the only unbeaten team in the ongoing Ghana Premier League will take on Basake Holy Stars on Wednesday in Aiyinase in an outstanding league fixture.
