Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito says his primary focus is on keeping his players in peak condition as they prepare for another important Ghana Premier League fixture.
Zito believes his responsibility is to guide the squad properly and ensure they deliver consistent, high-level performances each week. With matches coming in quick succession, he emphasised that player recovery has now become a central part of his strategy.
Kotoko travel to the AAK II Arena on Wednesday to face Basake Holy Stars in their outstanding match-week three fixture, and Zito is determined to have his team fresh and mentally ready.
"We have to manage ourselves, and I have to do my best to manage the players. The most important thing is their resting period, where I make sure they recover well for the next assignment," he told Peace FM.
"Again, I keep saying this: the moment you allow yourself to be recruited by any institution, that becomes your destiny, and you must follow it. So those of us here have agreed to work for Asante Kotoko. Whatever situation we find ourselves in, we have to change the narrative and do our best to achieve our target."
Kotoko are currently enjoying a strong run of form. Their draw with FC Samartex extended their unbeaten streak to 10 matches, making them the only side yet to lose a game in the league this season.
