Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that the club will soon determine the future of interim head coach Karim Zito following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

Zito, who took over on an interim basis midway through the second half of the season after the departure of Prosper Narteh Ogum, guided the Porcupine Warriors to an impressive finish — securing 4th place in the Ghana Premier League and clinching the 2024/25 FA Cup title.

The veteran coach capped off the campaign by leading Kotoko to a 2-1 victory over Golden Kick FC in the FA Cup final at the University of Ghana Stadium, earning the club its 10th FA Cup trophy and a spot in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Sarfo Duku commended Zito’s work and results but emphasized that a thorough review will determine whether he stays on as the club’s permanent head coach.

“When Karim Zito was appointed, we announced he would serve as interim coach — but he has performed well,” Duku said.

“In the Premier League, he lost only one game and went all the way to win the FA Cup.
He has done well, but we will review the season and make a decision on whether he will be maintained as the substantive head coach or we’ll bring in someone else. I’m personally happy with his performance and the work he has done.”
