Nicholas Mensah, midfielder for Asante Kotoko, has voiced his determination, alongside his teammates, to clinch the Ghana Premier League title by the end of the season.
Despite a rocky start to the campaign, the Porcupine Warriors demonstrated significant improvement, finishing third in the first half of the domestic top-flight competition.
As the Premier League resumes this weekend, with Kotoko slated to face Heart of Lions in the week 18 fixture, Mensah, who recently returned from suspension, emphasized the importance of unity and support from the fans.
Addressing the club's media, Mensah rallied the fans, urging them to stand behind the team as they set their sights on the league title. He stated, "We expect our fans to unite and rally behind us. We assure them that we will win the Ghana Premier League title. We have been talking to ourselves, and we will do everything possible to win the title at the end of the season."
Mensah's confidence stems from Kotoko's recent success, including their victory over Nsoatreman FC to secure the J.A Kufuor Cup last Sunday.
However, Mensah's journey back to the pitch was not without obstacles, as he faced a 12-month ban for alleged double identity. A complaint filed by Aduana FC against Asante Kotoko prompted an investigation by the Disciplinary Committee of the FA, ultimately clearing Kotoko of wrongdoing and charging Mensah and Delsanco FC instead.
