Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has showered praise on his Heart of Lions counterpart, Bashir Hayford, describing him as one of the finest tacticians in Ghana.

The two experienced managers will lock horns this weekend when the Porcupine Warriors welcome the Lions to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for their Week 4 encounter in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

In his pre-match interview, Zito acknowledged the quality of his opposite number while stressing that the outcome of the match will ultimately depend on how the players execute their instructions.

“Bashir Hayford is one of the best coaches we have in the country, so definitely the mantle will be with the players. How they follow instructions will make the difference,” Zito told AKSC Media.

He added that Kotoko have set a clear target for their home games this season.
“I have talked to my boys to forget about Africa for now and focus on this game. On the table, every home match should be a win. This is the mentality we are going to meet them with.”

The eagerly anticipated fixture between Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions is scheduled for Sunday, October 5, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with kickoff at 3 pm.
