Bechem United’s struggles in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League deepened on Sunday afternoon as they fell to a 2–1 defeat against Hohoe United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in their matchweek 12 encounter.

The Hunters made the perfect start and looked in control for much of the first half. Their dominance paid off when star forward Augustine Okrah produced a moment of brilliance, bending in a superb free-kick to hand the hosts a deserved lead heading into recess.

But Hohoe United emerged from the break a transformed side, levelling the score just three minutes into the second half with a well-worked equaliser that caught the Bechem defence flat-footed.

The visitors completed the turnaround in the 58th minute, punishing sloppy defending to fire home their second goal and silence the home crowd. Despite late attempts from Bechem United, including half-chances from Okrah (who even missed a penalty in the dying embers), and Darvin Yeboah as they were unable to claw their way back into the match.

The victory lifts Hohoe United to 10th place on the league table with 14 points, having now recorded three wins, five draws and four defeats from 12 matches.

For Bechem United, the defeat compounds a difficult start to the campaign. With just two wins, four draws and six losses, they remain in the relegation zone, sitting 17th with only 10 points to show after 12 outings.
