Newly-appointed head coach of Bibiani Goldstars, Frimpong Manso has opened up on why he decided to join the club and described them as one of the best in the country at the moment.

He comes in as replacement for Michael Osei who was initially asked to step aside almost ago before his sacking was made official couple of days ago.

Reacting to his switch, Frimpong Manso stated Goldstars have been very consistent since qualifying into the topflight and feels their recent poor performance is just unfortunate as he hopes to turn things around at the Dun's Park.

"Bibiani Goldstars have been consistent since they gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League. In terms of performance, player welfare and others, I think they are one of the best teams you can relied on but it’s just unfortunate things are not going as expected."

The ex- Kotoko defender started the season with Bofoakwa Tano and was doing so well but left his role almost a month ago with the reasons yet to be determined.

The Miners have been very shambolic this season and are winless in their last nine league matches.

Goldstars are currently on the 16th position on the league log with 12 points after 13 games and are just two places away from the bottom.

They will be out of action this weekend following the postponement of their GPL match-day 14 fixture against Dreams FC.
