Asante Kotoko have confirmed starman Albert Amoah has been ruled out for two months with anterior talofibular ligament injury which will definitely be a huge blow heading into subsequent games.
The 23-year-old elite gunman joined the Porcupine Warriors prior to the commencement of the ongoing campaign from Great Olympics and has been very outstanding since his arrival and arguably the supporters favourite in Kumasi.
Amoah, has scored nine goals in 14 matches in all competitions so far; having netted seven in the league and two in the FA Cup.
Albert Amoah sustained the injury in their last league game against Medeama SC at the new TnA Stadium in match-day 16 and was not in the squad for the game against Acceler8z FC over the weekend due to the same reasons.
The club confirmed this development in a statement on their website and head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has shown so much concern as he feels it will be a huge miss following the player's impact since joining them.
“It’s tough losing both Albert and Kotei at this busy stage of the season. I was immediately concerned when it happened, Albert is naturally strong, but his reaction to the impact was worrying. Injuries are part of the game, though, and we’re hopeful he’ll recover quickly, as he’s done before.”
However, the Porcupine Warriors can hugely rely on their newly-captured two strikers Sampson Eduku and Kwame Opoku - who has already netted in all three matches he's featured in so far.
The 'Kum Apem' lads will welcome newbies Vision FC to the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, January 19, in the next round of matches.
