Nations FC staged a dramatic comeback win over WAFA in the Division One League match-week 28 game to confirm their promotion to the Ghanaian top-flight league.

Kumasi-based outfit Nations FC have secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League after a five-goal thriller win over West African Football Academy SC on Saturday afternoon.

 
Nations FC had to fightback to record a 3-2 home win at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese, to book themselves a slot in the Ghana Premier League next season.
 
West African Football Academy opened the score in early minutes through Razak Simpson before hat-trick hero Abubakari Gariba levelled the score from the spot on the 10th minute.
 
The visitors restored their lead though former Ghana U17 star Emmanuel Agyemang Duah on the 58th minute after dominating the early minutes of the second half. 
 
Gariba popped up once again to snatch the equalizer for Nations FC on the 68th minute before grabbing the match-winner on the 96th minute from the spot to complete his day with a hat-trick.
 
Following the 3-2 win over WAFA, Nations FC have finished as winners of the Division One League zone two and have qualified to play in the Ghana Premier League next season with two games to end the 2022/23 season.
 
Nations FC occupies the top spot with 69 points while second place team Skyy FC pegs the spot with 57 points with two remaining fixtures to end the season.
 
Nations FC have joined the Ghana Premier League with Heart Of Lions, who finished as Zone three champions. 
 
Bofoakwa Tano and Techiman Eleven Wonders will battle out for the Premiership slot from Zone One with a playoff game slated for May 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
