Isaac Amoako, the former goalkeeper of Asante Kotoko, has shared his feelings of disappointment and betrayal following his departure from the club at a time when he needed their support the most.
Amoako, who had been a member of the Porcupine Warriors for ten years, revealed that he was unexpectedly asked to leave the club in December 2017, despite still being in the process of recovering from an accident he had suffered while on duty for the team.
Recalling the bitter experience of receiving the news, Amoako expressed his sense of betrayal and believed that the club should have given him more time to fully recuperate before making such a decision.
"The truth is simple. I felt betrayed. It hurt me to be in that situation where I was involved in an accident and needed enough time to fully recover and reach my best form, but that didn't happen. Eventually, I had to accept the situation and move on," he told Sompa TV.
"Some individuals affected are still harboring bitterness about how the club's leadership handled compensation issues," he added.
Amoako's heartfelt revelation sheds light on the challenges faced by players who are injured while representing their clubs and the importance of providing them with adequate support and understanding during their recovery process.
