Hearts of Oak forward Hamza Issah has appealed to the club’s supporters to throw their weight behind the team as they head into the GHALCA Top Four tournament, following their impressive 2-0 victory over Heart of Lions in the Gbese Mantse Cup.
The Phobians, who are building momentum ahead of the new season, produced a dominant first-half display at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday to secure back-to-back wins in the annual fixture.
New recruit Frank Abora Duku opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a composed close-range effort before Issah doubled the tally minutes later, finishing off a sharp counterattack to put Hearts in full control. Despite Heart of Lions showing resilience in the second half, Hearts stood firm to clinch the trophy once again.
Issah, who was instrumental in the victory, expressed his joy at lifting the title and used the opportunity to call on fans to maintain their strong presence as the club prepares for stiffer tests.
“I feel very excited, I’m happy that we won the trophy because it has been a dream to win it,” Issah said. “I am urging the supporters to come and rally behind the team in the GHALCA Top Four just like they did in the Gbese Mantse Cup.”
Hearts will now turn their focus to the highly competitive Top Four tournament, where they will battle traditional rivals Asante Kotoko, Gold Stars, and Heart of Lions for supremacy ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
