Lord Hilary Adabo, a midfielder of Real Tamale United (RTU) has denied claims that he scored his side's only goal in their 8-1 shellacking at Dreams FC on Wednesday.

There have been reports that RTU fielded lower-division players for the penultimate game of the season, as most of their players refused to train and honor the game due to unpaid bonuses.

However, despite this unsavory reportage, RTU dug-in the opener in the fourth minute, with the goal being credited to Lord Adabo.

Dreams FC responded swiftly, with deadly dangler - Agyenim Boateng notching five goals, Benjamin Bature scoring twice, and Ishmael Dede firing another goal to secure an 8-1 victory for the hosts.

After the game, Lord Adabo has clarified that he did not make the trip to Dawu, and was not fielded in the game.

"I am not the player who scored the RTU goal against Dreams FC today. I am currently in Tamale and I didn't play any game today. I've seen on social media that I scored a goal but all I can say is that there's only one Adabo in RTU and I'm in Tamale," he told Promise Radio.

The defeat has amalgamated RTU's relegation status, while Dreams FC will participate in next season's Ghana Premier League after securing their place with the much-needed victory.
