Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Udi Didi Dramani has emphasized the importance of resetting his players’ mentality as the Phobians prepare for Saturday’s Ghana Premier League encounter with Nations FC.
The experienced tactician is focusing on boosting morale and sharpening his squad’s focus following a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium last weekend.
Nations FC arrive in Accra buoyed by a 2-1 comeback victory over Heart of Lions, a result that has boosted their confidence ahead of the Week 14 contest.
Speaking ahead of the match, Dramani stressed that the priority this week has been psychological recovery rather than dwelling on past setbacks.
“I think first of all is to see to the psyching of the team, to see to it that we are refocusing and resetting our mentality in terms of what is ahead of us in a marathon competition,” Dramani told Hearts TV.
“It means that every week is a new event, and so it’s just an opportunity to reset our mentality for what is in front of us.”
After 13 matches, Hearts of Oak have collected 21 points, recording five wins, six draws, and two defeats. They sit level on points with Asante Kotoko and Samartex as the title race begins to take shape.
At the top of the table, Aduana FC moved clear on Friday after edging Heart of Lions to reach 27 points. Saturday’s 16:00 GMT kickoff at the Legon Sports Stadium offers Hearts a chance to steady their campaign and reassert their ambitions.
