Experienced Berekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fuseini has sealed a move to Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, signing a three-year contract ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The 27-year-old centre-back, widely regarded as one of the most consistent defenders in the league, brings over a decade of top-flight experience, having debuted in 2014. He was a standout performer during the just-ended season, featuring in 31 matches and contributing three goals and one assist.
According to sources close to the club, Fuseini has already completed the paperwork and will be officially unveiled in the coming days. His move was strongly recommended by coach Karim Zito, who is set to be confirmed as Kotoko's permanent head coach.
Fuseini is expected to play a key leadership role in Kotoko’s rebuilding process as the club looks to bounce back from a disappointing campaign. He will also reunite with former Berekum Chelsea teammates Lord Amoah, Patrick Asiedu, and Henry Ansu, who have all recently joined the Porcupine Warriors.
The defender’s experience and composure at the back are expected to provide much-needed stability for the Kumasi-based side as they aim to mount a strong title challenge next season.
