The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has secured a significant financial boost for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season through a new partnership with Adesa Production Limited (APL), the governing body announced on Tuesday.

Under the terms of the agreement, each of the 18 Premier League clubs will receive GH₵1 million ahead of the new campaign, which kicks off the weekend of September 12.

“Through this unique partnership with Adesa Productions, each one of our GPL clubs will, before the start of the league season, receive the amount of a million Ghana cedis,” GFA President Kurt Okraku said during the launch.

“This is not a grant; it is a firm commitment by the Football Association, by Adesa Productions, and by the government.”

The deal, which also includes performance-based bonuses based on final league standings, aims to provide financial stability to clubs and enhance competitiveness across the top flight.

The GFA says the initiative is part of a broader strategy to retain local talent, reduce player exits, and attract both domestic and foreign investment into Ghanaian football.

The association has also recently entered partnerships with local brands including LeLe Tasty Foods Ghana Limited and Kasapreko Company Limited, reinforcing its ambition to grow the commercial appeal of the league.
