Asante Kotoko's head coach, Seydou Zerbo, will not be present for the team's upcoming match against Samartex in Samreboi on Saturday.

Zerbo had to travel back to his home country, Burkina Faso, to attend the burial of his 10-year-old son, Mamadou, who passed away due to complications after a heart surgery.

As a result, the club granted Zerbo a two-week off-duty period to recover from his loss and to oversee his son's funeral rites.

Zerbo is expected to resume his duties at the club next week.

In the meantime, assistant coach Orlando Wellington, who has been training with the team since Zerbo's departure last week, will take charge of the match against Samartex.

Despite Zerbo's absence, the Porcupines are focused on securing a win against the Premier League newcomers to improve their position on the league table.
