Awal Mohammed, a former defender for Asante Kotoko, is contemplating a return to the Ghanaian football club for the third time.

The experienced central defender departed the Porcupine Warriors in 2018 to join Kuwaiti team Al Fahaheel on a two-year contract. Awal had previously played a crucial role in helping the Ghanaian giants win the President Cup and the FA Cup in 2017 while playing as a central defender.

Following his impressive performance at Kotoko, he received offers from foreign clubs, eventually signing with Indian club Sreenidi Deccan, where he currently plays. In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Awal expressed his interest in rejoining the Kumasi-based club after five years.

He mentioned that although he has not retired from football, he is unsure about what the future holds but acknowledged his affection for Kotoko, saying "I always choose them ahead of other teams."

“So far as I haven’t retired from football ‘never say never’. It can happen because Kotoko is in my heart and I always choose them ahead of other teams. I can’t predict but let’s see what happens,”
