Former Asante Kotoko center-back Maxwell Agyemang has rejoined Karela United FC in the just-opened January transfer window.

Details of the move hasn't been revealed with the player already registered and will be ready for the second phase of the season.

The 28-year-old is yet to play competitively in this 2024/25 season, but spent the whole of last season with the same Karela United where he made 16 appearances and will hope for more this time.

He joined Asante Kotoko at the start of the 2021/22 season, arriving from Division One side Wamanfo Mighty Royals and eventually contributed to winning the league that season.

Agyemang, at some point struggled to replicate those numbers with the Porcupine Warriors, featuring in just 22 games over two seasons which subsequently resulted into his exit from the club.

Karela United haven't been at their best and are working tirelessly to establish a redoubtable side with no blemishes heading into the second round.

The 'Pride and Passion' outfit are on a four-game winless run and occupy the 15th spot on the league log with 14 points - just a place above the relegation zone.
