Asante Kotoko is on the brink of finalizing the signing of former Ashantigold SC striker, Julius Ofori, in the ongoing transfer window, Kickgh.com can report.
At 24 years old, Ofori has made a strong impression on the technical team led by Prosper Ogum following a two-week trial during the club's pre-season training sessions at Beposo.
Born in August 1999 in Kumasi, he showcased his skills in the club's recent friendly victory over lower-tier side Future Stars in Ejisu, garnering the attention of many observers.
The club has decided to extend a three-year contract offer to the striker, and discussions are well advanced. It is anticipated that the deal will be formally signed before the closure of the local transfer window on Friday.
Previously, Julius Ofori played for the Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold SC starting in September 2020. He was also part of the AshantiGold team that competed in the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup, making an appearance against Moroccan side RS Berkane.
Additionally, Ofori has had stints with Belarusian side Energetik-BGU Minsk and most recently with Kelantan United in Malaysia.
