Ahead of the upcoming season, Premier League referees and assistant referees are set to undergo a comprehensive three-day training program at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence.

This course, scheduled from September 10 to September 13, is a crucial component of their preparation, encompassing the existing Fitness test as well as newly introduced Technical exams and Disciplinary checks.

The selection of referees for the Premier League was meticulously conducted by the Assessment and Classification panel, with valuable assistance from the Referees unit of the Ghana Football Association. The criteria for their selection included performance evaluation, medical assessments, written examinations on the laws of the game, fitness assessments, and an evaluation of morals and integrity.

In addition to this training program, the Referees Department has implemented several initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of refereeing in the future. These include weekly video tests, periodic written tests on the laws of the game (LOTG) to be administered at least four times throughout the season, compulsory mid-season fitness evaluations, and a mandatory fitness test to be determined by the GFA.

Furthermore, any referees or assistant referees whose performance falls below a score of 8.4 will face demotion to the lower tier at the conclusion of the season.

The committee's final selection comprises 30 center referees and 30 assistant referees, including all FIFA female referees and assistant referees, as stipulated by FIFA and the GFA directives.
