In a hard-fought clash during Round 16 of the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko emerged victorious with a slim 1-0 win against Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Both teams displayed strong performances, creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities in the first half. Despite the efforts, the initial 45 minutes concluded with a goalless draw.
The intensity continued into the second half, where Asante Kotoko had to dig deep to secure the win. The breakthrough came with a well-converted penalty by striker Steven Mukwala, propelling the Porcupine Warriors to a 1-0 lead.
This hard-earned victory propelled Asante Kotoko to the 6th position on the Ghana Premier League table, while RTU dropped to the 17th spot on the league log.
