Nations FC missed a golden opportunity to tighten the screws on league leaders Samartex as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Bofoakwa Tano at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

The visitors stunned the hosts by taking an early lead in the 13th minute, with Charles Mensah capitalizing on a chance created by Sammy Akoto Osae.

Despite being awarded a penalty, Nations FC failed to capitalize as Asamoah Boateng missed the spot-kick opportunity. However, they managed to level the score just before halftime courtesy of a goal from Barimah Baah.

In the second half, Bofoakwa Tano continued to press forward in search of a winner, and their efforts paid off when Emmanuel Agyenim restored their lead in the 82nd minute.

But Nations FC fought back valiantly, with Prince Acquah finding the back of the net just five minutes later to salvage a point and preserve their unbeaten home record.

The draw sees Nations FC trailing Samartex by 5 points, with their next fixture away against Heart of Lions. Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano remains in 15th position, only outside the relegation zone on goal difference. They will host Bechem United in their upcoming match at Sunyani.
