Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko says his team’s recent win over Vision FC has lifted confidence as they prepare to face Karela United in the Ghana Premier League.
The Yellow and Mauves will host Karela at the TnA Stadium on Sunday, 25 January, in a Matchday 20 clash as they look to continue their strong run of form. Medeama have won four and drawn one of their last five league matches.
Speaking before the game, Tanko praised his players for their hard work, especially in the victory over Vision FC.
“It was a very important win for us,” Tanko told Medi TV. “Vision had not lost a home game for about 16 matches, so to go away to Tema and win was very good. The boys did very well.”
He added that the result has given the team belief ahead of their home match.
“It has given us confidence playing at home,” he said. “We are preparing very well and we are treating it like any normal game. We hope the boys will deliver.”
Karela United, meanwhile, have found results hard to come by in recent weeks, losing two of their last three matches. They sit eighth in the league table with 25 points and will be aiming to bounce back.
Sunday’s match kicks off at 3:00pm.
