Head coach of Heart of Lions Bashir Hayford says his team must respond strongly after their 1–0 loss to Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League.
The defeat, which came in their Matchweek 20 away game, continued Lions’ poor run of form in the topflight league.
Speaking after the match, Hayford admitted it was a difficult game but accepted the result.
“It was a very tough game because both teams fought from their heart,” he said.
“We will take it like that because that is football. We will also go home and prepare for the next match.”
Heart of Lions have now won just one of their last ten league matches, leaving them under pressure in the league table.
Their next chance to bounce back will be a tough home game against league leaders Asante Kotoko at the Kpando Sports Stadium on January 31.
Hayford will be hoping his players show character and fight back as they look to end their poor run and move up the table.
