Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak's head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, is brimming in confidence after his team secured victory in the 2024 Homowo Cup against Heart of Lions.
The Rainbow Boys has struggled to compete in the MTN FA Cup and the Ghana Premier League during the past two seasons after the club won it back to back under former head coach Samuel Boadu.
The Phobians won on penalties to lift the Homowo Cup after coming from behind to draw 1-1 against the Lions in normal time.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Coach Aboubakar Ouattara said, "Winning the trophy today against Heart of Lions is the beginning of positive things for the club.”
He continued, "I am proud because last season [fans] suffered and after, I think this trophy is just the beginning of the league. Maybe we can see a new-look Hearts of Oak in the league.”
