Accra Hearts of Oak have officially announced the appointment of Mr. Julius Ben Emunah as their new Managing Director, a move widely seen as a strategic step toward strengthening the club’s administrative and governance structures.
Mr. Ben Emunah brings with him vast experience in football administration and sports management, having served Ghana football in several key capacities over the years. He is a former Director of Competitions at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and previously worked as the Western Region RFA Administrator, where he played a pivotal role in grassroots and regional football development.
His résumé also includes roles as National Safety and Security Officer and Club Licensing Manager at the GFA, positions that placed him at the heart of match organization, compliance, and regulatory oversight within Ghanaian football. Beyond local experience, the newly appointed Managing Director holds a Global Master’s degree in Sports Management and Legal Skills from ISDE Law Business School in Barcelona, Spain, underscoring his strong academic grounding in modern sports administration.
Notably, Mr. Ben Emunah’s journey in football began in the Western Region, where he rose through the ranks from a sports journalist to become one of the country’s most respected football administrators—an experience that gives him a unique blend of media insight, governance knowledge, and practical football understanding.
Hearts of Oak believe his appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club, as the Phobians look to enhance professionalism, improve operational efficiency, and restore sustained success both on and off the pitch.
With his deep roots in Ghana football and proven administrative pedigree, Julius Ben Emunah’s arrival is expected to inject fresh energy and strategic direction into one of the country’s most storied clubs.
