Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has expressed his readiness to accept a call-up to the Black Stars as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The former Eleven Wonders centre-back has been a standout performer for the Phobians this season, consistently delivering solid displays in the Ghana Premier League. His form was on full display during the high-stakes Super Clash against Asante Kotoko at Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a match closely observed by Black Stars head coach Otto Addo and his technical team as part of the ongoing World Cup squad selection process.

Speaking to Kessben FM, Osei Asibey welcomed the prospect of national team inclusion while emphasizing continued focus on his club performances.

“For me, players performing in the domestic league also deserve a Black Stars call-up. As a citizen of this great country, I’m ever ready to honour the invitation. In the meantime, I will continue to give my best for my club,” he said.

The defender’s display contributed to Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 victory over Kotoko, courtesy of an early goal from Baba Adamu, lifting the Phobians to second place on the league table with 39 points after 22 matches.
