Hearts of Oak held a press conference earlier today to address issues and have strongly disregarded comments made by their former head coach Martin Koopman recently.

The Dutch gaffer was appointed as the club's head coach prior to the start of the season and supervised the team throughout their preseason.

Koopman subsequently, got jettisoned by the club weeks ago in what is purely described as poor performance and the 'Phobians' are still yet to announce his successor.

Fast-forward, after his sacking, the experienced gaffer in a recent interview took a huge swipe at Hearts of Oak and stated they are only a big club on paper.

Again, he added by saying the management and board asked him to sideline some senior players which he refused to since they couldn't give him any tangible reason and feels it is mainly why they got him fired.

In response to his claims, the Rainbow Club held a press conference earlier today to rubbish all claims and added that won't stop them from achieving their goals.

"The negative comments will not deter us from achieving what we have set for ourselves."

The team is currently under the tutelage of their assistant coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru who had guided them in their last three matches.
