Hearts of Oak midfielder Glid Otanga is brimming with confidence regarding his team's prospects in the upcoming Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Phobians endured a challenging season last term, finishing in the 12th position on the Ghanaian top-flight standings.

The domestic top-flight is set to kick off this weekend, with Hearts of Oak scheduled to face Real Tamale United in an away fixture at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

After concluding their preseason preparations with a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Ghana Premier League newcomers Nations FC at the Kpobiman Complex, the Congolese midfielder has expressed his optimism about his team's potential to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.

Otanga started the game and was later substituted in the second half, just before Nurudeen Aziz scored the opening goal for the Phobians.

“Is not about a player who wants to play, it’s all about team work. The team isn’t about one player. I might play and I won’t score but another player will come and score”

“It’s a collective work. I can go and another player will join the club. We have a good team and good staff this season and we work hard, so I think we will go far this season”

Hearts of Oak aims to clinch another Ghana Premier League title in the upcoming season after experiencing a drought in the previous campaign.
