Benjamin Asare was named Man of the Match in their narrow win over Kotoko.

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare believes his team can still win the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title.

The Phobians kept their hopes alive with a hard-fought 1-0 win over rivals Asante Kotoko in Sunday’s Super Clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Baba Adamu scored the only goal of the game with a first-half header, as Hearts cut the gap on league leaders Medeama SC.

Speaking after the match, Asare said the title race is still open.

“Yes, anyone can still win it. If you look at the top four or five teams, it’s all about determination on the field. If we continue to win our matches, we have a great chance,” he said.

The goalkeeper added that lifting the league trophy would mean a lot to the team.

“Winning the league would be a huge opportunity for us, and I believe most of the players deserve it. This win today will help us be more aggressive and focused in our upcoming matches,” Asare added.

The victory moves Hearts of Oak up to third place on 39 points. They will aim to build on the result when they host Berekum Chelsea in Matchday 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, February 22.
