Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has assured fans that the club will soon return to being a competitive force, despite their recent challenges.

The Phobians have narrowly avoided relegation in the last two Ghana Premier League seasons, securing their status with a crucial 3-2 victory over Bechem United on the final day of the 2023/24 campaign.

Speaking to JoySports about the club's current state, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe expressed confidence in the direction Hearts of Oak is headed.

''I can assure you that within the next five years, you will not believe (the improvement), the standard of football alone at Hearts of Oak and its performances within and outside Africa will shock a lot of people," the former GFA Chairman said.

He emphasized that the club is in the midst of a long-term project, encouraging supporters to be patient and optimistic about the future.

"It is a long-term project and I will tell the supporters that we are building something they will one day be proud of," he added.

In preparation for the upcoming season, Hearts of Oak has moved their pre-season camp to Asutsuare in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region. Coach Abubakar Ouattara and the team will train in Asutsuare for a week before heading to Lome, Togo, for the final leg of their pre-season preparations.

Hearts of Oak will kick off their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season with a home match against debutants Basake Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
