Former Executive Council Member, Albert Commey alleges that Hearts of Oak vs RTU, Eleven Wonders vs Aduana Stars, King Faisal vs Legon and Ashanti Gold vs Bibiani Gold Stars were all fixed matches.
It was speculated across the local and social media landscape that majority of the Ghana Premier league final matches were manipulated.
Two teams had already been relegated with one of King Faisal, Eleven Wonders and Real Tamale United at risk of moving down the ladder ahead of the final round of matches.
The top scorer race was also up for grasp as Franck Mbella went toe-to-toe with Yaw Annor.
King Faisal beat Legon Cities by 2:1, Ashanti Gold drew 2:2 with Bibiani Gold Stars, RTU massacred Hearts of Oak by 4:1 and Eleven Wonders won against Aduana Stars.
Albert Commey alleges that the final round of matches was bedevilled with matches of convenience.
"The 2021/22 League season was competitive. I honestly didn't like the way and manner the last round of games were played, because there were a lot of fixed matches," he told Space FM.
"The matches between Bibiani Gold Stars and Ashgold was a fixed match, Techiman wonders vs Aduana Stars was a Fixed match, King Faisal vs Legon Cities was a fixed match and lastly HEARTS vs RTU was also a fixed match," he alleged.
"Let us not be hypocrites or else we wouldn't move forward in Ghana football. I won't blame the GFA on this, because teams do everything possible to stay in the league during the later part of the league."
