Head coach of Basake Holy Stars, Abdulai Gazale says his players looked heavy and failed to follow simple instructions during their game against Accra Lions on Saturday.
The Sacred Stars succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Accra Lions in the Matchweek 27 encounter of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.
"In fact, I am foreseeing something because we came yesterday early dawn, and they have eaten three times without exercise, I think that is the problem and it is something I have to think about seriously. We trained Thursday in the morning. eating Thursday in the afternoon, Thursday in the evening, Friday morning, Friday afternoon, Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon before the match, about seven square meals," he stated after the match.
"I believe that is something that made the players heavy on the pitch and it is something I have to look at," he added.
Holy Stars who came into the game on the back of a win over Berekum Chelsea were shocked as they were walloped by the capital side.
Prince Tweneboah's goal was not enough for Holy Stars, as Musa Hamzata, Lucky Nwafor notched to secure victory for Accra Lions.
This loss means Holy Stars lurks on the 12th position of the League log with 30 points, while Accra Lions are 16th with 26 points.
