Basake Holy Stars gaffer, Johnson Smith ensured his unbeaten run since taking over the club is intact after once again earning a huge point in Tarkwa against Medeama SC.

The Green-Blacks extended their recent unbeaten run to five matches after another pulsating 1-1 draw against the Mauves and Yellows in GPL match-day 15 clash at the TnA Stadium on the dusk of Monday

Skipper Koffie Hagan opened the scoring account for the visitors in the 30th minute with a close range tap-in to lead the game at half-time.

However, with just a minute to wrap things up, Kingsley Braye came off the bench to finally hit the back of the net after numerous missed chances to earn a point for the host.

Speaking after the game on TV3, the experienced coach was very satisfied with the team spirit throughout the battle and the results.

“The game was not bad. This is how I told the boys to play, so what they did was very good. The boys are responding to the instruction. We have only five defenders, so whenever there is a problem, there is trouble,” Smith said.

Basake Holy Stars will hope to return winning ways when they welcome newbies Hohoe United in the next round of matches.
