Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Arnyas Tanko has expressed a huge displeasure after failing to beat Basake Holy Stars and return to the summit of the league log.

The Mauves and Yellows needed a late goal to salvage a point against the Green-Blacks in a pulsating 1-1 draw in GPL match-day 15 at the TnA Stadium on the dusk of Monday

Skipper Koffie Hagan opened the scoring account for the visitors in the 30th minute with a close range tap-in to lead the game at half-time.

However, with just a minute to wrap things up, Kingsley Braye came off the bench to finally hit the back of the net after numerous missed chances to earn a point for the host.

In a post-match interview, the former Black Stars assistant says they were wasteful throughout the game as they had plenty good chances but couldn’t make them count

“It’s very painful. I must say we squandered a lot of chances.

“We had the chances that normally we have to scored and we didn’t. It’s very painful, but we need to look at our next match. In the end, we have to be happy with the point.”

Medeama SC missed out on clinching top-spot and are still a point adrift leaders Aduana Stars. They travel to Heart of Lions next in what will be a cracker in Kpando.
