Newly appointed Bechem United coach Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway says taking charge of the Ghana Premier League club is the fulfilment of a long-held ambition.

The former Kotoku Royals gaffer has signed a two-year contract with the Hunters, replacing Kwaku Danso, who has moved into the role of technical director.

Botchway is part of a reshaped technical team as the club targets an improved showing in the 2025/26 season.

“Bechem United has been in my heart for the past three years and I knew one day I would coach the club, and this is where I find myself,” Botchway stated.

Bechem will begin their league campaign in September with an away fixture against defending champions Bibiani Goldstars.

The new Ghana Premier League season kicks off on the weekend of Sept. 12.
