Hearts of Oak coach, David Ocloo, expressed his lack of fear towards relegation before the final matches of the Ghana Premier League.

Despite being deeply embroiled in the relegation battle, the Ghanaian giants successfully avoided demotion and secured their position in the top-flight league.

In their last game of the season, Hearts of Oak played an exhilarating goalless draw against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park. Prior to this match, the team had suffered six defeats in their previous seven top-flight games.

Following the game against Chelsea, Ocloo commended his players for their impressive performance and credited their discipline.

“I think my boys worked very hard today and they were very discipline, I’m so proud of them”

“The players play to plan, in football, you can control the game by possessing and you can control the game by defending and we controlled the game by defending, being compact and making sure we glide and shift and we are always compact. It was a great game and am proud of them”

Regarding relegation concerns, Ocloo confidently stated, “I was never scared of relegation because it is Hearts of Oak and history was behind us, so I was never scared”

Hearts of Oak ultimately finished in 12th place in the league standings at the conclusion of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
