2022/23 Ghana Premier League top scorer, Abednego Tetteh has disagreed with anyone that says the standard of the Ghanaian topflight championship has dropped and believes it was even more competitive this season.

The 32 year old honestly had a jittery start with King Faisal this season where he struggled to command playing time could only net two goals for the Green and Whites.

He switched to Goldstars in the second phase of the season where he quickly established himself as a mainstay and one of the fans favourite at the Dun's Park.

He soldiered on to notch 18 goals to emerge as the league's top scorer despite facing stiffer oppositions from Sampson Eduku, Hafiz Konkoni- who is currently with the Black Stars and others.

Speaking in an interview with Bryt FM, the experience forward argues that, the standard of the league hasn't dipped and that it was even more competitive in the just finished campaign- premising it on the fact that, the champions had to be determined on the final day.

"Truth be told, the just ended season was competitive compared to previous years because the winner of this year’s league had to be decided on the final day and that tells you the season was competitive."

“The just ended season has justified the competitive state of the Ghana Premier League. This is our own, and I will never look down on the league. I will not agree to claims that the standard of the league has fallen."

Bibiani Goldstars finished 5th position with 49 points at the end of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
