Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has praised the character of his players after the champions secured a crucial 1-0 away victory over Debibi United in the Ghana Premier League.
The Mauve and Yellows picked up all three points at the Debibi Presby Park in what was a cafey contest to maintain their strong start to the campaign.
Substitute Nana Kofi Babil scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute, giving Medeama a valuable victory on the road.
The former Borussia Dortmund star was delighted with the result, especially with the injury problems currently affecting his squad and the demands placed on the available players.
“It’s a very good feeling. Because of the nature of problems we have, we have a lot of injury players. But I think, and those who started today show a very good character, and then win here is very, very, very important for us,” Tanko told journalists.
The victory keeps Medeama at the top of the Ghana Premier League table with 11 points from five matches as they continue their defence of the league title and will host Heart of Lions next.
