Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko says he is delighted with his side’s growing consistency after stretching their unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League to 12 matches, as they prepare for Wednesday’s rescheduled Matchweek 14 clash with Bibiani Goldstars.
The Yellow and Mauves currently sit second in the table on 30 points from 15 matches, and they are level with leaders Asante Kotoko but behind on goal difference as they remain firmly in the title race.
Tanko’s side head into the midweek fixture on the back of a hard-earned 1–0 away victory over Heart of Lions, a result he described as crucial.
“The feeling is good, going 12 games unbeaten in the Premier League with all these good clubs. I think we did very well here,” Tanko said.
“Going to Kpando, we had the confidence to go and grab all three points. I think we played as a team. I have always said that when we play as a team, we can face any side, home or away.”
Despite their impressive unbeaten sequence, Medeama’s run includes six draws, which is a reminder of the fine margins at the top end of the table.
Their next challenge comes against a Bibiani Goldstars side who boast a flawless home record this season, setting up what promises to be another stern examination of Medeama’s title credentials.
